Although pride month was back in June, you still need to consider your LGBT employees, and what policies are in place to support them within your workplace.
Since sexual orientation and gender reassignment are both considered to be protected characteristics under the Equality Act 2010, you need to ensure that LGBT Employees do not receive discrimination or harassment within your workplace by law.
You should make sure that LGBT employees are covered by your current anti-discrimination/ anti-bullying policies, as well as ensure that they can receive equal opportunities to the rest of your staff. You could also consider implementing training focusing on equality and diversity for all employees and managers.
It is also important to consider whether your family-friendly policies, e.g. those covering maternity/paternity pay, adoption and shared parental leave etc. apply equally to LGBT staff and consider all different kinds of family structures, e.g. those with same-sex parents.
